About Dampwood Termites
As their name suggests dampwood termites only infest extremely damp or wet timber. Plumbing leaks, faulty gutters, broken drains, or other excessive moisture conditions will allow these termites to exist. These termites are 1″ in length and are much larger than drywood termites and subterranean termites.
Dampwood termites can be eliminated by removing the water source. Identifying and correcting the conducive conditions such as a leak or faulty drainage will alleviate the problem by eliminating the wet timber. Call Thrasher Termite & Pest Control if you need any more information about dampwood termites or assistance controlling dampwood termites.

Dampwood Termite Inspection
All termite services begin with an inspection by a licensed, experienced inspector, followed by a written report. Our inspector will note wood destroying organisms: drywood termites, subterranean termites, dampwood termites, fungus/dryrot, wood-boring beetles, carpenter ants, carpenter bees.
The report includes a list of damage found, recommendations for treatment and repair, and recommendations for preventing conditions that make your home vulnerable to wood-destroyers.
When structural fumigation with Vikane® gas fumigant or (also called “tenting”) is recommended, we’ll guide you step-by-step though the process to reduce the impact on your family.
