Thrasher Termite & Pest Control clients living in the Santa Cruz mountains are particularly vexed by mosquitoes. Mosquitoes can breed in a tablespoon of water. With so many seeps, springs, and seasonal creeks, mosquitoes are very difficult to control around mountain homes. Mosquito control requires multiple strategies. Before making any purchases, follow our tips for eliminating sources of standing water around your home.

Next, contact county vector control for help identifying the species of mosquitoes on your property and for assistance getting rid of them. County vector control has staff and experience (not to mention the authority) to deal with mosquitoes in rural and mountainous areas. Santa Clara County vector control/mosquito abatement on-line service request. San Diego County vector control/on-line complaint form. Finally, consider installing a CO2 type mosquito trap on your property. These traps are pricey; however, they do reduce the number of mosquitoes when installed and used as instructed. Great advise for trapping and controlling mosquitoes using CO2. It can be easy to install and when used correctly, can help reduce the numbers of mosquitoes in the area and there’s no need to expose yourself on harmful sprays that do not do anything against them. Great post, thanks for sharing.
